Canada’s history, heritage and culture are a source of pride for all Canadians. As we near the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Government of Canada invites all Canadians to experience and learn more about our environment and history.
I was very pleased to deliver an address on behalf of Minister Catherine McKenna on the Occasion of the Unveiling of an HSMBC Plaque at the historic Fort Willow. Our heritage is made of places of special significance, breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable historic events.
The creation of the Nine Mile Portage and Willow Depot was a nationally significant event that I was honoured to be a part of and will never forget.
I want to thank Bill French-Springwater Mayor, Simcoe County Warden-Gerry Marshall, Dr. Dean Oliver of the Canadian History Museum and everyone else who attended on the day, and made the event a great success!
